Nicholson farm is a 200 acres dairy farm with a pedigree herd of 120 Holstein cows. We have been supplying milk to Cadbury’s since 1953 when the family took on the farm..
The farm is only 5.5 miles from Leominster, a thriving market town, with a couple of super markets. The City of Hereford is17 miles south providing a wide range of shops and an abundance of interesting history. The famous Herefordshire Black and White Trail starts only three miles west of Leominster with a trail of country roads through medieval villages heading towards the Welsh border only 20 miles west.
The top of the farm drive provides panoramic views of over 60 miles, from the Brecon Beacons and the Skirrid in the south moving westwards to see the famous Black Hill towering over the market towns of Abergavenny and Hay-onWye. To the west are The Radnorshire Hills and further to the north it is possible to see the Montgomeryshire Hills and the hills of South Shropshire.
The farm hosts a small camping and caravan site registered with the Caravan and Camping Club.
There is a shower and toilet on site, and the fishing lake is in view and only 100 metres away.
The site has electric hookups for 10 caravans, and is a quiet and peaceful place to stay for a break and within a short drive from nearby towns and cities.
The fishing pool is around an acre in size with deep water. It is well stocked with several species including large specimen Common Carp up too 25lb and ample stock of smaller fish including some very healthy Roach, Rudd and Perch with the odd monster Rainbow Trout still in residence since the lake was created and stocked with trout in 1973. There is room for 8 rods comfortably using barbless hooks and avoiding keep nets please!
