Stretching to up to 5 acres in camping area, the campsite offers several opportunities for adventure. The running water among other facilities will make your stay as comfortable as can get. Meelmore Lodge campsite is the perfect destination for walkers. Its location, right at the foot of the mountains affords many walking opportunities, with the most popular attraction being walking through the Slieve Mountains. Campers have convenient private access to the mountains.
There are numerous other activities on can engage in for a fun camping experience. Tree lovers can feel right at home in the nearby Tollymore and Castlewellan forest parks. The kids are sure to have an amazing time at the Castlewellan forest park, which is home to Peacemaze, the world’s largest permanent hedge maze. You may also like to visit Silent Valley Tollymore Mountain Centre is also perfect for mountain hikes and canoeing. Teen-aged members of your crew can have a great time at the new skater park in New Castle, which is only about 10 km away. There is, without doubt, something for everyone.
While the campsite is predominantly used by families, the administration does allow couples and small groups to engage their services. The management is however, very keen, to discourage against any overly disruptive noises during the stay.
