Here in the East of England there is an area of inter-connecting lakes where wild-life is abundant, bird watching is unavoidable and holidays are fun. It’s the Norfolk Broads.

You will need to be a member of the Caravan Club to stay here but we are sure that the membership cost is well worth while

We can usually fit you into the site with at least one river view. The site faces south so that, as long as the sun shines, you can watch the boats or the birds all day, no draughty old hide needed to watch the birds, (even the feathered variety) just enjoy the scene from the comfort of your own caravan and the ducks will share your breakfast!

You’ll probably see kingfishers, marsh harriers, herons and barn owls on the marshes alongside the site, often on the site itself (but not the marsh harriers). Hardley Flood nature reserve is about half a mile along the river bank and is always teeming with birds, you are sure to see something special.

Should you tire of the view, you will not need to travel very far for an incredible variety of attractions. Right in the village there is a small local market every Monday. Reads Nurseries, the nationally-known garden centre is about 2 miles. Also within a few miles there is an otter sanctuary, a stately home (Somerleyton Hall), and of course, the Norfolk Broads.

A Day boat cruiser is available from our neighbour, larger boats are sometimes available at short notice too.

If you are into fishing, there are some pretty good fish here. Catching them is sometimes easy and sometimes incredibly difficult.

Nearby, Norwich (about 20 mins by car) has lots of historical buildings and a fine cathedral, good shopping too. 2 Park and Ride car parks this side of the city if you’d rather not drive into the centre. Maps available at our information centre.

Head for Great Yarmouth for FUN at the Pleasure Beach – mind you, you won’t get me on some of those rides!

Just send me an email and I will answer any questions you may have about this beautiful part of England.

We arrived and was met by the new owners and what a lovely couple they are. The campsite is clean and well looked after with drainage points adjacent to your caravan so no disposal of grey waste ,

The views are stunning as is the local heron that comes every day

There are two toilets one with shower and 50p honesty box all kept very clean

The local pubs and restaurants and cafe cater for all your needs it is not to far to local towns and yarmouth and lowerstoft are in easy reach

We have had two holidays there this year and have booked for another later

    it’s right on the river

The flood banks are now in place so no fear of flooding

    Brilliant place.
