The Isle of Wight is the original Dinosaur Isle. Popular with the Iguanodon of 120 million BC, it now attracts TV and film makers as well as royalty, novelists, politicians and poets. But theres still plenty of room for a great family holiday or a weekend away from it all.
The Dinosaur Isle exhibition encourages visitors to touch the fossils and speak to the experts. Join a fossil hunting expedition to find ancient sharks teeth. Explore the seas by fishing boat or learn to Scuba dive. The Needles at Alum Bay are multicoloured chalk cliffs. They are also home to a sweet factory, glassmaker and chairlift. Discover the marine history of the Island at several museums. Two examples are The Museum of Smuggling History and the Bembridge Maritime Museum. The Island hosts many special events, including Cowes Week and the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival. The sandy beaches and pier at Sandown are close to Site. Adgestone Vineyard is open for tours and to buy wine. The Site is divided into small bays, so please be ready to give the size of your unit when booking.
